Electronic sounds and lights are among Megatron's arsenal of gimmick features. A launching claw that becomes a chain whip, and arms that combine to form a fusion laser cannon are also its ultimate weapon. He was Cybertron's designated Lord High Protector initially. First off the articulation for the figure has only 23 points where as the Toy Biz Icon Series averaged 30 or more.
Second the paint is already starting to scrape off around certain joints after posing it only 2 times.
Third the inability to articulate the hands or rotate the legs below the knee greatly reduces the posability factor.
Fourth the head is way too small for the body. The Silver Surfer is suppose to be slender so therefore the head should look larger not smaller.
Last the plastic is made of a much cheaper grade than what Toy Biz used and I suspect that has something to do with why the level of muscular detail is less than what it was during the Toy Biz tenure. View product details in Amazon
After being a fan of Transformers when I was younger, I had to go out and get at least one of the new toys for the movie. (Although I'm 28 years old). Let me just say that first of all I am very impressed. Although transforming this thing from truck to robot and back almost took the better part of an hour for the first time, the look and feel of the finished transformed product is amazing. Although some of the other Transformers seem a little top heavy in robot mode, Ironhide has large feet making him pretty easy to stand up. He also looks awesome in robot mode, with a ton of detail... and the black color makes it very attractive, especially to the older crowd. While in truck mode (and it seems very difficult to get these things back into vehicle mode) the toy actually seems very "playable" with all of the many moving parts snapping back into place nicely to form a solid truck. It it actually looks like a normal toy truck... the engineering that went into this is genius.
However, like I said, I don't think this thing was made for kids. With so many little moving parts, twisting and turning and snapping and folding and clicking, something is bound to break if this guy is overhandled.
